The program’s curriculum has been developed and is reviewed annually to ensure that it enables students to successfully meet the program’s Learning Objectives. The program has two concentrations; School Libraries and Library Science, General. Each concentration requires 36 credit hours of coursework.
- The curriculum for the School Libraries track reflects those courses appropriate and necessary for Media Coordinator licensure (076) in the state of North Carolina and meets the requirements for American Association of School Librarians (AASL) National Recognition.
- The Library Science, General concentration includes two focus areas to choose from: Public Librarianship or Academic Librarianship.
If you are a transfer student or have already received a Master's degree, please contact the program director, Dr. Kim Becnel, to inquire about potential course waivers.
